Business/Marketing Professional Learning Community Event
October 24, 2011 at South Plains College in Levelland.
This professional development and networking opportunity was designed to bring together business/marketing teachers and postsecondary and business partners from across region 17 to address the career clusters.
The morning started off with a welcome by Dr. Kelvin Sharp, SPC President. Throughout the day there were four panel discussions in the following areas: Business Management & Administration Industry, Finance Industry, Information Technology Industry and Marketing Industry. During the luncheon time TBTEA presented the following awards: Rookie Teacher of the Year Les Tomlin, Secondary Teacher of the Year Jane O'Pry, and Technologist of the Year Scott Firenza. All three winners are from Monterey High School in Lubbock. We also had the opportunity to meet with South Plains College professor from the Business Department to discuss and update current articulation agreements.
